Off to Norfolk a couple of weeks ago to see some friends. Drove up Saturday morning as M11 had road works chose the A10 bad mistake! took 3 hours instead of 2 to get to Wereham, luckily it was a nice day. Arrived in Wereham and Maddy was waiting with a nice cup of tea and a smile, a long catching up chat and a bit of sport on TV. Then gearing up for #Strictly and opening the wine box and a merry night was had. Sunday we were off to Sheringham and a pub lunch first as we were going with another friend Rita who lived nearby and decided to go in her car. So headed towards the village of Weasenham about half way to Sheringham to a pub called the Fox and Hounds .It s run by a guy from Essex, bit of a jack the lad but very nice and friendly. Food was excellent especially the Sunday roast also a good selection of other meals. I had the steak and ale pie which was great and some very good desserts. So back on the road and arrived in Sheringham which was quiet busy but managed to get parked on the sea front with "Lovely" views of the wind farm off shore, ;-( But were in a good place to have a walk around so we walked up the high street and found a nice cafe with outside table in the sunshine.Walked back down the street to a fish stall and bought some crabs and prawns back to car and off home to Wereham,a good day out. Lazy Sunday night watching Strictly and Downton , eating the crab and prawns with a nice white wine and finished off the red then off to bed, Sandringham tomorrow. Another very nice sunny day, a couple of bacon sandwiches and off through the back roads in Maddy's car to see if we could find Amner Hall, Kate and Williams little cottage but no luck so to Sandringham . Parked near cafe for a cuppa before getting tickets for gardens. Along the path that followed the outside wall we saw about 8 stone plaques set into wall with the names of some the Queens Labradors that had died sometime ago, no corgis though. Passed some very big fir trees then around to back of house , didn't want to go in so walked past a nice avenue of trees to a small garden with a very big bronze Budda at end of it , then along front of house to a sloping path that led down to the lakes and banks of Autumn Crocuses. Followed path around to other side of lake with great views of the House took lots of pics. The path went though woods back to the entrance/exit a left turn there took us to the small church the Queen uses at Christmas. In the grounds are graves of the staff who worked at the house, inside church plaques set into wall of old Monarchs, not big inside but a lovely altar. Back outside had a walk around graveyard then back to car park and on the road home, another great day out. That evening we had roast pheasant, when in Norfolk gotta have it . TV and a few glasses of wine and bed , home tomorrow after seeing our friend Jinx in Downham Market. Tuesday a bit cloudy to start,
