So off To Chelsea ugh I go to see the Rolling Stones Exhibitionism at the Saatchi Gallery, met my friends at Sloane Street station and short walk to Gallery stopped to look at big illustrated book in shop opposite Gallery the cheap one was £100 dear one £3000.. moving on. To the ticket office to exchange vouchers for actual tickets when we got to the doors Big sign No photographs so of course i didn't take any! The first area was just walls full of record and gig stats then a big screen with excerpts from past lives, then on to mockup of their flat in Edith Grove(took a pic but didn't come out very well) anyway. The next room had display of original contract diaries other paper work, and drum kit and guitars then onto mocked up muscle shoals studio very good setup. The next room all guitars manly Keith's and Ronnie's very impressive and some recorded tunes to listen to, moving along to the best room a large display of their stage outfits from 60s through glam to Micks Sympathy tour clothes great exhibit, then it to room about how the lips logo came about with a Large multi coloured Tongue. That lead to rooms showing the lay out of some of their great stage shows and album sleeves chart progress of the art work. Into a smaller room with displays of stuff the band members took on tour with them, Micks barbers chair and Union jack dressing gown Charlie's miniature drum kit and other members various foibles. Then into a room that was showing excerpts of some of the films made my famous directors about the Stones including the infamous C...sucker tour interesting! onto a mockup of a backstage scene at one of their tours amazing amount of equipment. At the exit to that exhibition a girl warden? was handing out sets of spectacles 3D as we found out later. We had to wait a few minutes for a performance to finish and then into next room with a large screen that proceeded to show a 3D film of the band playing Satisfaction at a big concert in America Great stuff! That was the end of the exhibition apart from the inevitable Shop of course, as i had separated from my friends i thought they were already outside so rather rushed though shop to meet them outside. They wernt of course so sent a text and they said will be out soon they were with a Tshirt and a book, so off to the Kings Head for a well earned couple of Pints nice pub.On the bus home i was kick myself for not spending more time in shop and buying some stuff, so when got home straight on Laptop book another ticket for Exhibitionism next Wednesday ;-) off to Sloane Square on bus again this time it wasn't a Bank holiday so lot less crowded more time to take it all in. Which was really good saw a lot more things i had missed first time, anyway ended up in shop and bought three Tshirts some postcards and badges, then off to the Coopers Arms for a drink and a sit another nice pub then walked back to the Chelsea Potter, never been to that famous pub before very Trendy with some good beers.
